Is your rear axle making noise, growling, or shaking? Start by installing this kit from bearing.
This axle repair kit consists of:
- 2 Bridge nose bearings
- 2 Differential block bearings
- 1 axle nose seal
Before starting any repairs, here are a few things to check
- Drive shaft cross joints: Check the play in your drive shaft cross joints. Excessive play can cause noise and vibration.
- Transmission bearing: Check the condition and play in the rubber, even though the bearing is mounted on RUBBER BUSHING, minimal play is tolerated.
- Bridge flange: Check the tightness of your rear bridge CLAMP. The rear axle bolts are the only fasteners connecting your axle to the chassis. On Daily vehicles with high mileage or that are frequently overloaded, these bolts can become loose. Test the operating clearance using the rear stabilizer bar.
If there is too much play, use penetrating oil to loosen it. Then clean the threads of the CLAMPs in order to tighten them as much as possible. It is best to use an impact wrench for this operation.
