The particulate filter pressure sensor, also known as the Delta P sensor, measures the pressure difference between the inlet and outlet of the particulate filter (PF).
When the pressure differential becomes too high (a sign that the DPF is clogged), this sensor automatically triggers regeneration to burn off the accumulated soot. Without it, the engine may lose performance and the DPF may be damaged prematurely.
