🚗 Important steps for changing your PLATEts and front brake discs
1️⃣ Remove the front wheels: Use a 27 mm sleeve after lifting the vehicle and securing it with jack stands.
2️⃣ Removing the front hub: Use a 17 mm sleeve to remove the hub.
3️⃣ Removing the brake caliper:
- Remove the CAPs from the slides using a flat SCREW screwdriver.
- Remove the SCREW slide pins to remove the caliper.
4️⃣ Removing the bracket from the caliper: Use a 24 mm sleeve to remove the bracket from the rear.
5️⃣ Remove the brake discs:
- Tap the back of the disc firmly with a large hammer to loosen it.
- Clean the mounting surface with a wire brush and a coat of bellows.
6️⃣ Preparing the new disc: Unpack and degrease the disc with brake cleaner.
7️⃣ Installing the new disc: Place the disc on the hub and re-tighten it.
8️⃣ Cleaning and installing the caliper pads:
- Clean the caliper with a wire brush.
- Install the new ressorts of PLATEts.
9️⃣ Reassembly of the bracket caliper: ReSCREW it using the 24 mm sleeve.
🔟 Installing the PLATEts: Reposition them in the bracket of PLATEttes.
1️⃣1️⃣ Push back the pistons of the caliper:
- Use a clamp if you don't have a piston repeller.
- Press with an old PLATE to push the piston straight back.
1️⃣2️⃣ Check the caliper slides: If they are seized, use a new kit slide (available as an accessory).
1️⃣3️⃣ Installing the wear indicators: Clip them onto the PLATEtte and refit the brake caliper.
1️⃣4️⃣ Finalization: Tighten the new SCREWs on the sliders and replace the CAPs on the caliper.
