⚙️ Large capacity oil filter Iveco Daily 3.0 HPI – Clean oil to protect the F1C engine
🔧 What is this part for?
The oil filter traps metal particles, combustion residues and impurities that engine oil collects as it circulates. Placed on the lubrication circuit, just after the oil pump, it ensures that only clean oil reaches the crankshaft bearings, camshaft and turbo. On the 3.0 HPI of the Iveco Daily, an engine often heavily used under load and in urban use, this filtration directly determines mechanical durability. A clogged filter allows contaminated oil to pass through or limits its flow, risking accelerated wear of internal parts.
This large format screw-on cartridge fits in place of the original filter on the Iveco Daily III equipped with the 3.0 HPI engine (F1C) of 136 and 166 hp, produced from 2004 to 2006. It is replaced at each oil change, requiring no special tools other than a filter wrench.

✅ Why replace this part?
✅ A saturated filter no longer traps particles, which then circulate throughout the engine and wear bearings, bushings and turbo.
✅ When the cartridge becomes clogged, the bypass valve opens and allows unfiltered oil to pass to prevent pressure loss.
✅ Changing the filter at each oil change ensures that fresh oil stays clean and preserves the longevity of the 3.0 HPI.
✅ Symptoms of wear / failure / replacement
An oil filter should be systematically replaced at each oil change, even if it shows no visible defect. Oil that blackens and thickens abnormally quickly, an oil pressure warning light that comes on at idle, or knocking noises on cold start may indicate a clogged filter or insufficient lubrication. A leak at the cartridge seal, a dented or rusted casing also requires immediate replacement. If the pressure warning light comes on, stop the engine and check the level before restarting.
✅ Installation tips
Drain the engine while hot, then unscrew the old cartridge, ensuring you have a container for the remaining oil. Check that the old seal has not remained stuck on the support, then wipe the seating surface. Lightly oil the seal of the new filter and screw it on by hand until contact, then tighten according to the instructions on the cartridge, without forcing with a wrench. After filling with oil conforming to Iveco specifications, run the engine for a few moments, check for leaks at the seal and verify the level on the dipstick.
✅ Technical advice from RAXOR Parts
On the 3.0 HPI, the oil filter is always changed at the same time as the oil: putting fresh oil on a used filter pollutes it from the first kilometers.
