🚗 Important steps for changing your front brake pads and discs
<1️⃣ Removal of front wheels: Use a 27 mm socket after lifting the vehicle and securing the assembly with stanchions.
2️⃣ Front hub removal : Use a 17 mm socket to remove the hub.
3️⃣ Brake caliper removal:
- Remove the slider plugs using a flathead screwdriver.
- Unscrew the slider screws to remove the caliper.
4️⃣ Removing the caliper bracket: Use a 24 mm socket to unscrew the bracket from the rear.
5️⃣ Removing the brake discs: - Tap hard on the back of the disc with a large hammer to loosen it.
- Clean the mounting surface with a wire brush and a blowgun.
6️⃣ Preparing the new disc:Unpack and degrease the disc with brake cleaner.
7️⃣ Installing the new disc: Place the disc on the hub and screw it back on.
8️⃣ Cleaning and installing the caliper brackets: - Clean the caliper bracket with a wire brush.
- Install the new pad springs.
9️⃣ Remounting the caliper bracket: Screw it back on using the 24 mm socket.
🔟 Installing the pads: Reposition them in the pad holder.
1️⃣1️⃣ Push the caliper pistons: - Use a clamp if you don't have a piston plunger.
- Press with an old pad to push the pistons straight back.
1️⃣2️⃣ Check caliper sliders: If seized, use a new slider kit (available as an accessory).
1️⃣3️⃣ Installation of wear indicators: Clip them onto the pad and refit the brake caliper.
1️⃣4️⃣ Finalization: Tighten the new caliper slider screws and replace the caliper caps.
