🛠️ Installation tutorial – Changing the front discs and PLATEts on an Iveco Daily 35C
🔧 Tools required:
- Allen keys
- Ratchet with extension
- 17 mm, 24 mm, and 27 mm sockets
- Hammer
- Flat wrench
- Push-piston or clamp-GASKET
- Wire brush
🚗 Replacement steps:
- Removing the front wheels: Use a 27 mm sleeve to remove the wheels after lifting the vehicle and securing it with jack stands.
- Removing the front hub: Using a 17 mm sleeve, remove the hub.
- Removing the caliper: Remove the CAPs from the sliders using a flat screwdriver, then remove the SCREWSCREW the SCREW of the sliders to remove the caliper.
- Removing the bracket caliper: From the rear, use a 24 mm sleeve to remove the bracket.
- Removing the disc: Use a hammer to tap the back of the disc to loosen it. Then clean the mounting surface with a wire brush and compressed air.
- Preparing the new disc: Degrease the new disc with brake cleaner.
- Installing the new disc: Place the disc in position and reinstall the hub.
- Cleaning the caliper: Use a wire brush to clean, then install the new ressorts of PLATEts.
- Reassembly of the bracket caliper: Secure it with the 24 mm sleeve.
- Positioning the PLATEts: Place the PLATEts in the bracket.
- Retraction of the stirrup pistons: Using a clamp GASKET or a repellerpiston, push back the pistons using the old PLATE as a support.
- Checking the caliper slides: Make sure they are not seized; replace them if necessary.
- Installing the wear indicator: Attach it to the PLATEtte, then reassemble the caliper, tightening the new SCREWs.
- Finalization: Replace the caliper CAP.
After reassembly, before driving again, pump the brake pedal slowly until it becomes firm to ensure that the PLATEts are correctly positioned.
