The AdBlue pump is the central component of the SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) emission control system fitted to Euro 6-compliant Iveco Daily vehicles. Located on top of the AdBlue reservoir, it draws the urea solution and delivers it with precision to the injector, which sprays it into the exhaust line upstream of the SCR catalyst. Under heat, the urea transforms into ammonia, which reacts with nitrogen oxides (NOx) to convert them into nitrogen and water vapour—two harmless compounds. Without a functioning pump, the SCR system cannot inject AdBlue: the vehicle generates engine faults, enters limp mode, and may become unable to start.
