The oil filter is the central element of the engine lubrication circuit. It retains impurities, metal residues, combustion particles and suspended deposits in the oil before they reach internal engine components. On the 3.0L HPI engine of the Iveco Daily, whose distribution is ensured by a hydraulic chain particularly sensitive to oil quality, the filter plays a critical role in maintaining oil pressure and circuit cleanliness. A clogged or over-capacity filter disrupts lubrication, causes premature wear of bearings, rings and chain tensioner, and can cause irreversible engine damage.
This filter is supplied new, original Iveco equipment. It directly replaces the previous reference 2995655 on Iveco Daily 35C and 35S equipped with the 3.0L HPI engine from 2000 onwards, without modification or adaptation. Replacement is essential at every engine oil change.

The oil filter itself has no visible failure symptoms, but indirect signs alert to saturation: illumination of the oil pressure warning light, low oil pressure measured on a gauge, cold start clicking or grinding noises (often related to poor lubrication of the chain tensioner), or abnormally black and loaded oil colour when changing. On the 3.0L HPI engine with chain distribution, any oil pressure fault must be treated as a priority. Filter replacement is systematic at every oil change, regardless of its external appearance.
✅ Installation advice
The oil filter must be replaced simultaneously with engine oil change. Before installation, lightly lubricate the seal ring of the new filter with clean oil to ensure installation sealing. Tighten the filter by hand until the seal makes contact, then apply an additional torque of approximately three-quarters of a turn using an appropriate filter wrench – do not over-tighten. After engine start-up, verify there is no leakage at the filter and check oil level. Take the opportunity to simultaneously replace the oil drain plug seal. Oil change is best performed by a qualified technician.
